This is the blown 437 inch
small block that powers my Nova to low 9 second
passes!
The all aluminum 437 inch
small block engine is a based on a .200 tall Donovan block (4.145 bore
x4.050 stroke) using custom 7.8:1 thermal barrier coated J&E blower
pistons with a Crower 4340 forged crank, Crower 4340 billet stroker connecting rods, Crower roller cam (secret blower profile) Crower offset roller lifters, Crower shaft mounted stainless steel roller rockers (1.6 ratio), Crower custom length 4340 pushrods, Crower titanium retainers and locks.
The induction is handled by a pair of Bud Harper's CNC ported Pontiac 867 cylinder heads with 2.125/1.625 Titanium valves (Intake= 348 CFM/Exhaust=247 CFM @.700" lift @28" of H2O). Two BDS prepped Holley 850's feed the Gene Mooneyham 8-71 Supercharger (hard anodized/18 point teflon stripped) producing 19/20 lbs of boost when overdriven
18%! This engine was dyno'd at 634 HP@6700 RPM on SHELL 92 pump gas
(underdriven 18%) and 838 HP on VP C-16 (overdriven 18%) at the crankshaft and 732 RWHP on a chassis dyno and was built by:
